Building with Bootstrap: Create a Responsive Website using a CSS Framework

This is for a Workshop in the category for a Intermediate audience.

Come be a master of mayhem, a conquerer of columns, a ruler of responsiveness. Together we will use Twitter Bootstrap to build a front page for an online magazine (or other design TBD). We will also briefly explore the who, what, when, where, why of responsive CSS frameworks. What do we mean by responsive design? Why use a CSS frameworks and when does it makes sense to do so? What some of the pros- and cons- of other framework choices currently available, such as Foundation and Ink, and where do I find them?

How does your submission contribute to the diversity of the conference?

I am a female professor teaching web design and development, graphic design and visual communications to journalism students. In this case, it's an intermediate level coding workshop, and is useful for teaching students web development and these frameworks are often used as a starting base for news apps because they don't need to be included in the CMS.

What will your audience have gained by the time your session is over?
