In many parts of the world, mobile has leapfrogged PCs and desktop computers. Start-ups in Africa and Asia have developed innovative apps and services to deliver content to more than 2 billion users. Larger media organizations such as the BBC are thinking about how these applications can help them reach new audiences -- not just in Africa and Asia, but in the West as well -- and how to tailor content for these new platforms.
