For the City, Thakkar leads initiatives to raise the level of civic discourse between the public and its government, to convey Mayor Rahm Emanuel's initiatives through the power of platform-agnostic storytelling, and to collaborate with key players in Chicago's booming digital economy. Thakkar also serves as a Fiction Editor for TriQuarterly Magazine. His writing has previously appeared in Guernica, TriQuarterly, and as part of the 2014 Twitter Fiction Festival. He holds an MFA from Northwestern University and is currently working on his first novel.
