Drake Martinet

Martinet combines his business savvy and journalism chops to oversee all aspects of how VICE News content reaches its users. This role requires him to manage the technology product, audience considerations and high-level partnerships to arm the newsroom with tools to create great stories and extend their reach. Prior to VICE News, Martinet served as an adjunct professor of digital journalism at Stanford University, a newsroom fellow at the New York Times, reporter for The Wall Street Journal’s AllThingsD, and co-founder of Lerer Ventures’ NowThisNews. These experiences have given him a catbird seat to the disciplines necessary to build a successful, modern, digital media company. Martinet hold a bachelor’s degree from University of California, Davis and a master’s degree of journalism from Stanford University, where he also attended the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (the d.school).
