Natalie (Talia) Jomini Stroud is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies and Assistant Director of the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life at the University of Texas at Austin. Stroud directs the grant-funded Engaging News Project, which examines commercially-viable and democratically-beneficial ways of improving online news coverage. Her recent book, Niche News: The Politics of News Choice (Oxford University Press) received the International Communication Association's 2012 Outstanding Book Award. She teaches courses on media and politics and is honored to be an invited member of the Society for Teaching Excellence at the University of Texas at Austin.
