How should journalists be working in the connected mobile age and how will the evolution of smart, connected wearable devices change how consumers engage with news content.

This is for a Speaker in the category for a Intermediate audience.

The session is designed to introduce people to the fundamentally different habits that people have in the way they engage with mobile digital content compared with content consumed via traditional physical media and even desktop browsers. How this this in turn affects how news should be produced and distributed. It will extend this analysis to emerging platforms, including smartwatches, and offer insights into how people/consumers will engage with news content in the next 2 to 5 years.

How does your submission contribute to the diversity of the conference?

This presentation will offer clear and accurate insight into what the future holds for journalism and the enormous opportunities for those individuals and firms who are willing to adapt how they produce and deliver to a rapidly expanding market. It will offer concrete examples of where journalists need to be focusing their thoughts on how they engage with consumers who have long since abandoned the printed page, as well as giving accurate forecasts into where the market will be in the short to medium term. This insight comes from a purely mobile centric company that has not had the cultural inertia of a traditional media company that has been forced to change with the times but rather a company that has actively contributed to the product disruption the news ecosystem is currently witnessing.

What will your audience have gained by the time your session is over?
