The New Career for Journalists

Brand/sponsored journalism opens a new space and career opportunity for journalists. All of the members of our editorial team at Atlantic Media Strategies (the in-house digital consultancy of Atlantic Media) have backgrounds in journalism and reporting. We apply that experience to the needs of our clients, which could include creating sponsored content for The Atlantic, launching a new media brand, redesigning a site or creating content and social strategies. Lymari Morales, the managing director of editorial for Atlantic Media Strategies, can talk about her progression from a newsroom to this new area for her career, and how other journalists who are interested in strategy and digital development can make the same leap.

How does your submission contribute to the diversity of the conference?

This panel could apply to a variety of different types of positions in media -- from journalists to designers and developers -- as well as all skill levels. With so many journalists looking for jobs or for their next step, this panel will bring to light the diverse career opportunities that brand journalism and media strategy offer.
