Spencer Ackerman

Ackerman is the US national security editor at The Guardian and a former senior writer for Wired. He has reported from Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay, and numerous military bases, surface ships and submarines, and focuses on the intersection of security, privacy and technology. Ackerman was part of the team reporting on the National Security Agency revelations that earned the Guardian the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service, the Scripps-Howard Roy W. Howard award for public service reporting, and the Investigative Reporters and Editors Medal. While at Wired, Ackerman also won the 2012 National Magazine Award for Online Reporting.
